Monitoring Intergenerational Fairness in the EU

Generational Profiles

The Generational Profiles answer the question "Is my generation worse off?". Users select an age, a country and a reference period, and compare the living conditions of people of that age today with those of people of the same age in the past (four-year averages from 2005–2008 to 2021–2024).

The profiles cover indicators such as the at-risk-of-poverty rate, the housing cost overburden rate and the employment rate, with breakdowns by sex and income where the data allow.

Track your Fairness

The Fairness Trend Dashboard allows users to select the individual indicators that matter most to them and to see whether they have moved upward or downward relative to a 2007 baseline (2007 = 100), for a chosen country or the EU average.

The dashboard contains all indicators used in the composite indicators, as well as contextual indicators that are not included in the indices, for example because a sufficient time series is not available. Each indicator links directly to its source, mostly Eurostat.
