Earthbreakers, anartwork by Ingrid E.M. Ogenstedt, is now permanently on show at the JRC.
We are delighted that the artwork Earthbreakers (Compos[t]ing) by Ingrid Else Maria Ogenstedt is now on permanent display at the JRC Ispra site.
A large-scale print, accompanied by three sculptural models, reinterprets a previously realised site-specific installation originally exhibited in the heart of Brussels’ Cinquantenaire park. The work is installed near the entrance of the Soil Memory Bank, creating a dialogue between art, soil, and environmental memory.
Earthbreakers was commissioned by JRC. The artwork is the result of a research residency that took place in the framework of the NaturArchy project. It developed as part of the Compos[t]ing project run by in collaboration with Ingrid Mayrhofer-Hufnagl, Jonah Lynch and Calogero Schillaci.
Find a full description of the artwork and project in the book NaturArchy: Towards a Natural Contract, p. 48.
