A Nature-Positive Economy (NPE) seeks to promote prosperity while protecting and restoring the natural world we depend on. It creates opportunities for innovation, job creation, and food security while reducing the risks linked to nature loss. The priorities are increased human-wellbeing and prosperity, restored ecological conditions, and enhanced value pluralism of nature in decision-making processes. Economic growth may occur in the context of industry sectors and activities that are well aligned with planetary boundaries. A NPE means that the net results of all economic activities combined, leads to an absolute increase in nature towards full recovery.
