This page brings together the tools, format specifications and downloadable resources for the International Reference Life Cycle Data System (ILCD) and its extended format (eILCD).
Look@eILCD (LED)
Look@eILCD analyses datasets in the ILCD format directly from XML files, with no need to map EF/ILCD terms to software-specific names. It also works natively with the extended-ILCD (eILCD) format, which was developed to support disaggregated datasets (e.g. level-1 partly aggregated datasets) and more complex Environmental Footprint (EF) models.
The software includes multiple validation checks and automatically aggregates the model (the XML files in the lifecyclemodel folder) into a fully aggregated, EF-compliant dataset. A user guide is included.
ILCD Schema
The ILCD Schema lists all XML file types used in ILCD. For each file type, it provides the allowed fields, their required order and the expected content type (e.g. text, numeric values, enumerated entries), together with the recommendation level of each field (mandatory, recommended, optional) under the ILCD Entry-Level Scheme.
For the mandatory information and fields required under the Product and Organisation Environmental Footprint (PEF/OEF) schemes, refer to the Guide for EF compliant data sets.
ILCD SDK
The extended-ILCD (eILCD) Data Format SDK introduces a new dataset type, the life cycle model dataset, which represents complete models composed of ILCD process datasets.
The SDK contains sample data for all XML dataset types, schemas, stylesheets, licensing information and additional documentation, including the Interface Paper on modelling requirements.
