Application of remotely operated equipment for cutting pipelines in reactor sub-flow areas and removing radioactive sources from storage facilities

  • Publication | 2025

Case description The application of remotely operated equipment and robotic technologies for dismantling pipelines in reactor subfloor areas and removing radioactive sources from storage facilities. These solutions are particularly relevant in high-radiation environments where minimizing personnel exposure is critical. The use of robotic cutting machines and remote control ensures precise cutting, segmentation, and safe extraction of pipeline systems, structural elements and contaminated soil. The process includes pre-cutting, extraction, decontamination, packaging and further disposal of pipeline segments, concrete structures and radioactive sources.
