A recent review on European skin cancer registries shows that melanoma registration in Europe is generally robust and well established, while non-melanoma skin cancer remains inconsistently recorded.
The paper highlights rising melanoma incidence over recent decades, with signs of plateauing in younger age groups, and calls for improved harmonisation, timeliness and completeness of registry data to better support prevention, service planning and cancer control in Europe.
