Measuring gender-responsive climate change adaptation in agrifood systems

  • Publication | 2026

This discussion paper reviews eleven adaptation metrics frameworks and draws on six key informant interviews to examine how gender is integrated into the measurement of climate change adaptation at project, local and national levels. The authors identify persistent challenges relating to data availability, attribution, standardisation and institutional capacity, as well as to changing climate risks. On this basis, they propose a flexible national-level framework for assessing gender integration in agrifood adaptation, intended for governments, development partners and practitioners.
