This document presents a practice-based case study on the application of ROM during the decommissioning and environmental remediation of the Maišiagala RAW storage facility in Lithuania. The project involved the construction of the temporary infrastructure required for the removal of RAW, followed by the removal of contaminated structures and contaminated soil from a legacy storage facility characterised by uncertain waste inventories, confined underground structures and significant radiological hazards.
